Wet ball mill is a commonly used ore beneficiation equipment. If the it is not adjusted properly during operation, it will cause many problems.
Recently, our customers reported that the discharge port of the wet ball mill is easy to carry unbroken limestone particles during use. Today I will tell you about the reasons for the appearance of pebbles in the materials and the corresponding solutions.
1、Grinding machine super force of ball mill
Operator errors or problems with the weighing and metering system of the weighing belt feeder will cause excessive output of the wet ball mill equipment, resulting in pebbles from the wet ball mill.
Solution: reduce the feeding amount or suspend feeding (to keep the ball mill equipment running normally), and resume feeding after the current of the ball mill reaches the normal value (note: the feeding amount cannot be greater than the design value).
2、The quality of the materials processed by the ball mill is poor
When the material processed by the ball mill contains impurities such as sediments, especially the sediment content, the concentration of the material in the ball mill will increase, the fluidity of the material will become poor, and stones will occur during the discharge process of the rolling bearing wet ball mill.
Solution: increase the amount of ore supply and reduce the amount of ore. When the material is quartz stone, the weight of the steel ball can be increased by increasing the diameter of the steel ball, thereby increasing the impact force of the ball mill. At the same time, reduce the feed rate, reduce the output of the ball mill, prolong the residence time of the quartz stone in the ball mill, and improve the wear resistance of the material
3、Wear ball mill lining
After the lining of the wet ball mill equipment is worn to a certain extent, due to the reduction of the thickness of the lining, the volume of the mill will increase, and the phenomenon of stones at the discharge port will become more obvious.
Solution: increase the steel ball load, increase the output of the wet ball mill, and avoid stones from the ball mill. The increase of steel balls is generally 5%-15%.
4、Improper adjustment of feed water ratio
The wet ball mill is mainly driven by water. Excessive water intake and strong bearing capacity will take away a large amount of coarse particles, resulting in increased circulation rate and reduced mill efficiency.
Solution: When the wet ball mill transports stones at the discharge port, the slurry concentration of the discharge mill should be measured, and the feed water ratio should be adjusted according to the concentration to make it within a reasonable range. A reasonable material-to-water ratio is generally close to the value of 1:3.
5、Feed particles are too large
When the feed size of the wet stone ball mill increases, the grinding time of the same fineness will increase, and the efficiency of the ball mill will decrease. When the feed particle size is doubled, the efficiency of the ball mill will decrease by 20%.
Solution: Choose the appropriate feed amount and feed amount according to the equipment instruction manual, and do not blindly increase the feed amount, which will reduce the efficiency of the machine or damage the machine.
